Apparently, Mourning Dove...

A little later the predator perches in our maple tree...

The past few days I had a blast finding several kill sites during 2 of our CBCs. I should have taken pictures - I just love yours!

Mike: If that is the guilty party, it would possess a bulging crop from its meal of plump dove. As you know, all bird eating raptors temporarily store their meals in a crop that conspicuously expands following a fresh kill. As always, the images are superb!

On one hand, the pictures were taken several hours apart, but later on an adult Cooper's Hawk showed up. However, I suspect there may be 3 or 4 different Cooper's Hawks in our neighborhood that visit our backyard on a regular basis.

Cheers,

Mike
