2007 Audubon WatchList

In trouble...the Henslow's Sparrow

"Audubon and the America Bird Conservancy have joined forces to rally conservationists around America's most imperiled birds. WatchList 2007, a new analysis from these leading bird conservation organizations, uses the latest available research from the bird conservation community along with citizen science data from the Christmas Bird Count and the annual Breeding Bird Survey to identify 178 species in the continental U.S. and 39 in Hawaii that are in need of immediate conservation help."

I read the list earlier today (red & yellow,) & just wanted to cry. Humans "civilized?" Evidently too much, if at all...

The only hope for these birds is to preserve summer, migratory and winter habitat for them, this habitat decreases everyyear hence LESS birds..would GOD approve of the human race destroying the other creatures he created..I doubt it.

It was good to see that here in Arkansas the state newspaper along with two of the three state television stations were giving the published list creditable coverage yesterday and/or today.
